I was born in Singapore and lived between Singapore and Hong Kong during my teenage years. After returning to Singapore to serve two years in the military, I moved to the U.S. to attend New York University.
Growing up at the intersection of multiple cultures shaped how I think about science and medicine. I’m drawn to innovative research that goes beyond the lab and leads to practical treatments that can be incorporated into the everyday life of others.
While my research training has largely been in Virology and Molecular Biology, I am passionate broadly about integrating computational tools with wet-lab experiments to accelerate discoveries faster than ever before in history for patients with treatment-resistant diseases who have no other choice.
Just as I grew up navigating different cultures, I aspire to bridge the worlds of technology and biological research to advance translational science.
